Ashley and Sean’s engagement session at Mayflower Gulch felt intimate, sweet, and effortlessly romantic. We met at the trailhead knowing that while the gulch is accessible by 4×4, the rocky road wasn’t in the cards for us that day. While Sean turned the car around to park at the trailhead, Ashley and I started the hike upwards, wandering about a mile up the trail toward the gulch, taking in the views as we went.

Early summer was just beginning to show itself. Snow was melting, greenery was popping through, and wildflowers were starting to make their appearance. It was the perfect Colorado June session!

Once we reached the gulch, we were met with jaw-dropping views of the surrounding ridges, mountains stretching beyond, and historic miner cabins tucked into the landscape. Despite passing a few hikers, it felt like we had the place almost entirely to ourselves. Photographing Ashley and Sean was such a joy! They were relaxed, adventurous, and completely open to exploring and letting the session unfold naturally. It was my first time shooting at this location, and they gave me so much creative freedom and patience as I scouted the best spots. As golden hour settled in, the mountains glowed, perfectly reflecting their laid-back, go-with-the-flow energy. I’ll take ten more of these sessions, please!
