Allison & Thor’s Officers Gulch Engagement Photos
Allison and Thor met me at the Officers Gulch trailhead after flying in from Washington, DC. Visiting Colorado to tour their venue, they knew it was the perfect time for engagement photos! From there, we walked around the icy lake and marveled in the crisp spring air. They brought their wedding Spotify playlist with them, and as it played softly in the background, everything felt very "them". Photographing them felt less like a session and more like hanging out with friends! We laughed, played, and let moments unfold without forcing anything.
This was my first time shooting at Officer's Gulch, and after shooting there, it's now one of my favorites! It's right off of I-70, so it's extremely accessible and offers beautiful views of the lake and ridges. We were there in April so the lake was still frozen and the air was still crisp, but you can't deny the beauty of the location! When I shoot at a new location, I always scout it out beforehand to familiarize myself and create a gameplan for us so we're set up for success by the time my couples arrive. I went out to Breck that day and scouted out this spot, as well as a few nearby locations, so when Allison and Thor showed up we were good to go!
